Minor Hockey Annual Awards Banquet
Due to scheduling issues, the Annual awards banquet dates have been moved
ahead to the following and will take place at The Pepsi Studio starting a
6:30 both nights. Tickets are available at The Pepsi Centre and The
Trophy Shop at a cost of $8.00 each. Mary Brown's will be served. Hope to
see you all there.

Annual General Meeting
The Corner Brook Minor Hockey Annual General Meeting will be held on May 26,
2009 in the Main Ball Room @ The Greenwood Inn and Suites starting at 7:00
pm. Anyone wishing to run for an elected office should make their
intentions known 48 hrs in advance of the meeting if they are seeking the
Presidents Position. All other positions can be done by nomination at the
meeting. Don't stand on the boards and voice your opinion.....get out there,
get involved and make a difference.

Atom "A" 50/50 Draw
Congratulations to Maureen Clare
of Meadows who was the lucky winner of the Atom A 50/50 Draw held tonight at
The Pepsi Centre. Maureen won $1934.00.
Thank-you to all who supported the team in their fundraising efforts.

As provincial Tournaments approach, all members are encourage to avail of
accommodations from HNL's Provincial Sponsor "Steele Hotels" in areas where
hotels exist and rooms are available. Steele Hotels is responsible for
providing Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for all Provincial Tournaments for
this year and the past three years. The following is a list of Steele Hotels

Clinic for Speak Out
The
Final Speak Out clinic will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the
Sir
Wilfred
Grenfell
College
in Room AS 378 from 6:30
– 9:30 PM .
Please
note this will be the FINAL clinic held in Corner Brook for the 2008- 2009
season, this is the last chance Volunteers will have, to ensure
participation on the bench is not affected by not having this clinic
completed.

*** MIDGET A/B SCHEDULE CHANGE ***
Please
be advised that Midget A/B Tryouts will be held on Friday January 23,
2009 at 4:00 PM in the Kinsmen Arena – The
cost for each player is $10.00 ( 1 hour of Ice time) and is
payable at each
practice. All players wanting to participate in the Provincial
A/B Tournaments must have attended tryout(s)
to be considered.

Because of some last minute necessary scheduling issues, some changes have
been made. Players in Pee Wee, Bantam, Novice 1, and Atom should consult the
schedule.
*** Pee Wee A Important Parent Meeting ***
The Pee Wee A coaching staff have asked that all parents be available for an
important meeting immediately following practice on Tuesday January 13,
2009.
Western Female Midgets Takes Gold
The Western Female Midget
Team brought home the Gold Medal at the 2009 Provincial Midget Female Hockey
Championship this past weekend in Whitbourne – They will
now represent the province at the
Midget Female Atlantics Championship being held in Glace Bay, NS March 26 –
29.
Congratulations to all the girls on a great showing.

Final Call for The Speak Out Clinic
The Second
and Final Speak Out clinic will be held within the next 2 weeks (date to
be confirmed shortly). Anyone requiring the clinic are advised to indicate
your intention immediately to your Divisional VP as we are compiling a
list to ensure we have sufficient numbers to hold clinic.

The CBMHA Semi-Annual General Meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday
February 10, 2009 from 7:00 - 8:00 pm at the Greenwood Inn and Suites,

NL Aboriginal Hockey Assessment Camp (Cancelled)
The aboriginal sport and recreation circle just advised the tryouts will be
cancelled for tomorrow Jan 2nd, due to predicted weather. Revised dates will
follow ASAP.
December 31, 2008:
Newfoundland & Labrador Aboriginal Hockey Assessment Camp
On January 2nd there
will be tryouts at the Stephenville Dome for male and females interested in
trying out for Team NL. Tryouts are open to males between the ages of 14-17
and females between the ages of 14-18. You may find more info at

Midget A/B Tryouts
Please be advised that
Midget A/B Tryouts will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 in the Kinsmen
Arena at 1:30 PM and Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 4:00 PM in the
Kinsmen.– The cost for
each player is $20.00 (2 hours of Ice time) and
is payable at the
first practice. Only players that
are eligible to play under Hockey Newfoundland Guidelines are permitted to
participate in these tryouts. All insurance must have been submitted to
Corner Brook Minor Hockey or Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador.
